Imperial Express SuperChair was opened in 2005. The elevation of the chairlift reaches 12,840 feet above sea level. It is located 100 feet from the top of Peak 8. The chairlift gave access to about 400 acres of new terrain above the treeline, where previously it was only accessible by almost an hour-long hike.
The Imperial Express SuperChair services the Imperial Bowl, the Lake Chutes, and allows access to the Peak 7 Bowl, which includes some very difficult high alpine terrain with slopes up to 55 degrees.
