Summit County Private Transfer Fee

What is a Private Transfer Fee?
A private transfer fee is paid to a third-party such as a community association, developer, or an organization such as for charity or the environment. In the Colorado Contract to Buy and Sell Real Estate there is a section which allows for the transfer fee to be defined, what percentage it is, and who pays for the fee. Therefore, who pays for the fee (Buyer or Seller) is negotiable. Be sure your realtor knows of any potential private transfer fee for the area for which you would like to purchase a home or condo in Summit County. Here at Ski Colorado, we do our homework to ensure there are no surprises at closing.
BMMA
The Breckenridge Mountain Master Association (BMMA) is one association in Summit County, specifically in Breckenridge, that collects a private transfer fee at time of closing. See our BMMA page for more details.
